Every year, the Heinz Nixdorf Institute welcomes numerous new academic staff. The “Get to know HNI” is an opportunity for them to get to know the institute and the work of all specialist groups better and to make contacts that strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation. The “Get to Know HNI” provides long-term support for new employees starting out in academic work by enabling them to quickly establish contacts for joint research projects outside their own work group.
This year, the “Get to know HNI” will take place on June 20th.
In an extensive program, the work groups will present their projects and give an insight into their work. Among other things, our "Control Engineering and Mechatronics" work group will give a tour of its laboratory and present various current research topics from the field of mechatronics and control engineering, including the golf robot “Golfi” and a double pendulum. Junior Professor Suzana Alpsancar will visit the HNF Museum in a workshop to discuss philosophically and ethically relevant aspects on the basis of exhibits.
