Lennard Haarmann successfully completed his PhD on the topic ‘A Systematic Approach to Organisational Planning for the Venture Client Model’ under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roman Dumitrescu. We offer him our warmest congratulations!

Summary of the thesis:

In order to enhance their innovation and competitiveness, established companies are progressively incorporating start-up solutions into their market offerings, processes and business models. To this end, they are using the venture client model, which offers a range of benefits for start-ups and established companies. However, implementing this model can present various challenges, particularly in terms of process and structural organisation and their planning. This thesis therefore pursues two objectives. From a scientific perspective, the objective is to address the existing research gap in the context of organisational planning for the venture client model. From a practice-oriented perspective, the objective is to enable established companies to apply the venture client model by creating organisational foundations. In this regard, a structured approach for organisational planning for the venture client model is being developed. The approach consists of three components: knowledge for the venture clienting process and structural organisation (1, 2), and a process model including tools for organisational planning (3). As a result, users are provided with a comprehensive roadmap for implementing a target process and structural organisation for the venture client model.
