The eighth Stuttgart Symposium for Product Development took place from May 21 – 22, 2025 - and Felix Vollenkemper from the Chair for Product Creation was invited to present Design for Capabilities (DeCap) even three times: in an elevator pitch oriented towards industry, in a poster session and in a scientific presentation on the conference day. With the title “Evolving Design for Assembly, Disassembly and Reassembly into a new paradigm”, the project team from the Heinz Nixdorf Institute and the IFA of Leibniz Universität Hannover presented an innovative approach that shows how disassembly and reassembly processes must be integrated at an early stage in the course of capability-oriented product development. The approach helps to close material cycles earlier and with higher value in order to benefit both ecologically and economically.
