The six sub-projects of the DFG Priority Programme 2443 ‘Hybrid Decision Support in Product Development’ have developed concrete approaches for their future cross-project collaboration at the Interface Challenge in Paderborn. The identified interfaces make it possible to utilise and link data, models and methods across projects. In doing so, they lay the foundations for bringing together the different research approaches of the individual projects and jointly advancing the overarching objective of SPP 2443
The identified interfaces create cross-project synergies by enabling the individual projects to combine their respective expertise and resources, thereby unlocking new potential for the SPP as a whole. EasyMLS, developed by Prof. Bernd Kuhlenkötter and Prof. Detlef Gerhard, and DeCap, developed by Prof. Iris Gräßler, head of our ‘Product Creation’ workgroup, and Prof. Matthias Schmidt provide each other with resources to validate their approaches, such as the collection of capability data in the disassembly process using the electrolyser as a case study. DeCap is also collaborating with HUMAN DECISION, led by Prof. Robert Schmitt and Prof. Sören Auer, on a cross-cutting ontology for SPP 2443. EasyMLS and XDP-Opt, led by Prof. Ralph Bergmann, are collaborating on similarity assessment using case-based reasoning. The CAD Transformer from HYDRA, led by Prof. Alexander Hasse and Prof. Fred Hamker, is being integrated into the solution architecture of INSPIRE, led by Prof. Gisela Lanza and Prof. Rainer Stark. INSPIRE and XDP-Opt are also exchanging ideas on the development of an evaluation model for the manufacturability of components.
The Interface Challenge thus forms the starting point for the further development of these cross-project approaches.
