The research project "Assessor View" by our research associate Mugdha Khedkar from the "Secure Software Engineering" workgroup has led to two scientific publications.
The journal Automated Software Engineering accepted the study, which will also be presented at IEEE SANER 2026.
The project investigates why data protection checks according to the GDPR are often difficult in practice. Dr Eric Bodden and his team therefore developed a tool that analyses the source code of Android apps and prepares data flows in an understandable way for different target groups. The aim is to make data protection checks more transparent, accurate and efficient.
The results show that automated software analyses can make an important contribution to improving the implementation of data protection regulations in practice.
