Workshop on Meaning, LLLMs and Experience

 |  Heinz Nixdorf InstitutePhilosophy and Ethics of techno-scientific Cultures

From 28 to 29 May 2026, Professor Suzana Alpsancar, head of our "Philosophy and Ethics of Scientific and Technological Cultures" workgroup, and Sebastian Luft are organising the workshop "Meaning, LLLMs and Experience" at Paderborn University as part of the Humboldt Research Fellowship.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together academics who are working on these topics and would like to present and discuss their current work. Different theoretical traditions and perspectives within and outside Philosophy, such as analytical philosophy, phenomenology, the history of philosophy, science and technology and social theory, will be brought into dialogue with each other. A particular focus will be on the connection between semantic and ethical questions of meaning and on contributions that examine these in the context of experience and large language models.
