Farisoroosh Abrishamchian successfully completed his doctorate on the topic of "Variability Management in Design of Mechatronic Systems" under Professor Ansgar Trächtler. Congratulations to her!
Summary of the thesis:
In this thesis an approach for the integrated model-based design of intelligent dynamic systems is presented. A concept for the establishing a cross-domain solution is the basic target of this system design. To reduce the design complexity because of involving different modeling tools across the system, consistency between multi domains and dependencies between subsystems are considered.
In this work, a guideline with more flexible procedural model to follow a fixed schedule form for design processing is proposed. For this purpose, the original V-model of the VDI guideline is further broken down into subfunctions. Also, some additional subfunctions are added to the developed system design process of Oestersötebier [Oes17]. Considering that, a method of variability management is adapted to use commonalities and differences of the various implementation fragments of the resulting product. To handle this, feature-oriented software development is applied to provide configuration options and to facilitate the generation of model-based system design based on a selection of features.
