We are delighted to welcome Mark Thomas Young to our workgroup "Philosophy and ethics of scientific and technological cultures".
Mark is a philosopher of technology whose current research focuses on the growing field of maintenance and repair science. He is particularly interested in the relationship between technology and time. He founded a research network on maintenance and philosophy of technology at the Society for Philosophy of Technology and is co-editor with Mark Coeckelbergh of the volume Maintenance and Philosophy: Keeping Things Going (Routledge, 2024). As part of the Serius project, he is working with Professor Dr Alpsancar on the ethical dimensions of autonomous drone systems.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, reading superhero comics and surfing.
