We are delighted that Joel Bock has recently joined our "Philosophy and Ethics of Scientific and Technological Cultures" workgroup.
His research examines the relationship between technology, ethics and politics. He is investigating how the history of ethical and political philosophy can enrich contemporary debates in the philosophy of technology. He completed his PhD at DePaul University in 2024 with a doctoral dissertation titled "Work and Leisure in the Digital Age: Aristotle, Hegel, and Stiegler".
In his leisure time, Joel enjoys travelling, reading long novels with no plot, singing, hiking, watching basketball and enjoying French cheese.
