TalksHoch3 | Sportstadt Paderborn - Unthinkable without Heinz Nixdorf?!

 |  Heinz Nixdorf Institute

The last lecture in the "TalksHoch3" series will take place on 9 October 2025 at 7 pm at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum with the topic "Sportstadt Paderborn - Unthinkable without Heinz Nixdorf?".

After a welcome by Dr Jochen Viehoff, Managing Director of the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum and Prof. Dr René Fahr, Vice President of Paderborn University, the evening will begin with the presentation "Sport with brains in the spirit of Heinz Nixdorf" by sports scientists Lea Weike and Oliver Schlosser from Paderborn University.

This will be followed by the lecture "Sportstadt Paderborn - Unthinkable without Heinz Nixdorf?", held by Prof. Dr. Dr. Claus Reinsberger.
Heinz Nixdorf not only wrote technology history as a visionary and entrepreneur, he was also a sponsor of Paderborn sport. He believed in the power of sport for body, mind and community and, through his commitment, created a lively sports scene that combined popular and competitive sport as well as the promotion of young talent and health care. With the construction of the Ahorn Sports Park, the promotion of sporting activities in everyday working life and the founding of the Chair of Sports Medicine at Paderborn University, he laid structures that have lasted far beyond his time. On the occasion of his 100th birthday, this lecture will honour his personality and the attitude with which he has shaped sport and society to this day.
