We congratulate our research associate Dr.-Ing. Stephan Kruse, who has been awarded project funding for the next two years by the Walter Benjamin Programme of the German Research Foundation (DFG).

The Walter Benjamin Programme enables researchers to independently implement their own research project at a location of their choice, following on from their doctorate. This research project can be carried out within or outside Germany. The aim of the funding programme is to enable postdoctoral researchers to develop their own research profile and strengthen international collaborations.

Stephan Kruse will be able to deepen and expand his research on novel photonic radar systems at three different international locations over a period of two years. He will spend eight months at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), Harvard University (USA) and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) in collaboration with local mentors.

The aim of his further research within the Walter Benjamin Programme will include the investigation and analysis of a photonic radar system based on mode-projective measurements using a QPG. The focus will be on the resolution beyond the Rayleigh limit, as well as on the investigation and analysis of various transmission schemes.
