On November 17 and 18, our “Data Science” workgroup attended the SAIL Retreat in Bad Sassendorf.

The retreat served as a platform for scientific exchange and networking within the SAIL research network. The focus was on poster presentations by doctoral students and short talks by postdocs, who presented their current research work and latest results. The doctoral students opened each session with short project pitches, before the content was discussed in more depth during a poster session. A total of four short poster sessions took place during the two days of the retreat.

The program was supplemented by short presentations by postdocs, who provided insights into the latest methodological developments from various SAIL research areas. In addition to the technical program, the retreat also provided space for informal discussions, strategic exchange, and strengthening cross-location and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Project progress and work packages were also discussed.
