Whilst the potential applications of drones are growing as their autonomy increases, the risks posed by cyber-attacks and threats such as unpredictable behaviour in dynamic environments are also on the rise. Another milestone has now been reached in the SeRIUS project: organised by Fabian Schiebel and Roman Trentinaglia from our ‘Secure Software Engineering’ workgroup led by Prof. Dr Eric Bodden, threats to drone systems have been identified and systematically assessed. These findings form the basis for the next steps towards implementing measures to enable the resilient and secure operation of autonomous flight systems.
