East Westphalia-Lippe as a European model region for sustainable development - vibrant, resilient and economically successful.
This is the common vision that business, science, administration and politics want to pursue until 2035 and beyond. The central tool: the Green.OWL masterplan, developed in the Green.OWL project of the same name.
Green.OWL stands for a path that combines ecological sustainability and economic innovation - in a region where people take responsibility and shape their future consciously, courageously and in a joint dialogue.
The Green.OWL masterplan is the way to achieve this vision. It is a common framework for action, a steering instrument, a toolbox and a learning platform all in one. It was developed on the basis of a scientific survey and analysis by the Heinz Nixdorf Institute in collaboration with OstWestfalenLippe GmbH, the Fraunhofer IEM and around 40 associated partners in the region.
The programme is flanked by practical transfer offers that support small and medium-sized enterprises in particular in implementing the sustainable transformation.
Now it's time to implement the masterplan: This is based on a data-based dashboard, scientific monitoring and an annual impact measurement, on the basis of which the objectives of the masterplan are regularly adjusted. Important tools include an information portal with AI-supported recommendation management, customised support services and a broad-based activation campaign.
The message is clear: OWL has the economic strength, the innovative power and the culture of cooperation to not only master the transformation, but to use it as an opportunity - for value creation, quality of life and sustainability. Green.OWL shows how this can be achieved.
