The Green.OWL project supports the sustainable transformation of the economic region of Ostwestfalen-Lippe. The aim is to develop a model region for sustainable business. The focus is on small and medium-sized enterprises, which receive practical concepts and measures to make their business processes more environmentally friendly and resource-efficient. A central building block is a master plan that defines goals, measures and indicators in the fields of energy, circular economy, mobility and education. The project integrates ecological, social and economic aspects into corporate strategies and develops concrete applications and pilot measures to demonstrate sustainable approaches in practice. Close networking with regional stakeholders promotes the transfer of knowledge between research and industry so that companies benefit from best practices and innovative solutions.
It is organised by OstWestfalenLippe GmbH in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechatronic Design Technology (IEM), the Heinz Nixdorf Institute and around 40 partners from business, science and politics. Green.OWL is sponsored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Union (ERDF) as part of the Regio.NRW - Transformation programme. The cooperation of partners from business, science and politics creates an interdisciplinary context that strengthens competences for sustainable business and innovation.
