Our researchers are unique. Here they introduce themselves and show their very personal side behind the scientific work.
Marek Edler:
"I completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Economics at Paderborn University, followed by a Master's degree in International Economics and Management. During my Master's degree, I also worked as a student trainee in Weidmüller's e-mobility product management department. I then started as a research assistant in the "Behavioural Economic Engineering and Responsible Management" workgroup led by Professor Dr. Fahr at the HNI. As behavioural economists, we conduct research at the interface between psychology and economics.
The focus of my research is on questions of technology acceptance. In particular, I am involved in the "AEM Speedport" project at the Paderborn/Lippstadt Innovation Airport, in which processes on the airport apron are being automated. We are systematically analysing how the employees involved perceive these automated systems. Innovative technologies only offer real added value if they are accepted by the people involved.
In my free time, I do a lot of sport myself and also enjoy attending sporting events. For example, I regularly play basketball at Paderborn University Sports, go to the gym and enjoy playing beach volleyball in the summer. I also regularly attend the home games of SC Paderborn and the Paderborn Baskets. I also like going to concerts, which is why you can sometimes find me with a tent at a festival. When I'm on holiday, I usually go on road trips to see as much of the countries as possible. For example, I have already travelled through parts of the USA, Iceland and the Azores. I'm fascinated by the impressive nature that you can see and experience while travelling."
