Our researchers are unique. Here they introduce themselves and show their very personal side behind the scientific work.

Louis Mozart Kamdem Teyou:

I am currently doing my PhD at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute in the field of Artificial Intelligence, specialising in knowledge representation and reasoning. My research focuses on learning concepts with multiple representations - in particular, developing and evaluating methods that combine symbolic reasoning with embedded approaches. I started my PhD working on knowledge graph embedding models, where I designed and published two new models, and I am now extending this work towards robust instance retrieval and concept learning.

Before joining Heinz Nixdorf Institute, I studied Applied Mathematics at Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) in Finland, where I obtained a Master's degree. Before that, I completed a Master's degree in Mathematics with a specialisation in Data Science at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Rwanda. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at the University of Douala in Cameroon.

Outside of research, I am passionate about music and chess. I am an intermediate level solo guitarist and also enjoy playing chess, with a current blitz rating of around 1400.
