Our researchers are unique. Here they introduce themselves and show their very personal side behind the scientific work.
Leen Jubarah:
"I have always been interested in the many different ways Mathematics can be used in practice. For this reason, I first studied Applied Mathematics at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. I worked as a computer science tutor at an early stage and found great pleasure in Computer Science and teaching. I completed my Master's degree in Optimisation and Simulation - an exciting interplay between Mathematics and Engineering.
I found the ERC project "Self-Optimising Static Program Analysis (SOSA)" at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute to match my Master's degree. With SOSA, the optimal analysis tool is selected depending on the programme code - entirely through automation. I realised that this project was a perfect match for the interests and skills I had acquired during my studies. After completing my Master's degree, I therefore started working on the project as a research assistant at the beginning of 2025.
As part of SOSA, I am specifically looking at the issue of computer-aided self-awareness. Self-awareness means that SOSA should be aware of its actions, i.e. the code analyses. This means that SOSA should understand how well each analysis performs and for what reason.
In my free time, I like to go for walks in nature to recharge my batteries for research, or I enjoy reading."
