Artificial intelligence (AI) enables the processing of extreme data in real time for data-based decision support. Dr.Jens Pottebaum, Marcel Ebel and Niklas Döhner from our "Product Creation" workgroup presented the results of the CREXDATA project at the "Global Initiative on Resilience to Natural Hazards through AI Solutions" in Brussels. They showed how AI can support crisis management in extreme weather operations. In addition to researchers and disaster management experts, political decision-makers and representatives from various EU and UN organisations were able to gain an insight into the CREXDATA platform and test the applications in augmented reality. The feedback shows: CREXDATA makes AI applications in civil protection usable for decision-makers and thus enables data-based decision support in real time.
