Young research assistants in product engineering from different universities exchange ideas - for this purpose, this year's assistant meeting of the WiGeP group “Virtual Product Engineering (VPE)” took place in Kaiserslautern. At the chair of Prof. Jens Göbel at the RPTU, current research priorities were discussed at the event. Through the cross-university exchange, potentials for the improvement of teaching and research were considered. In a workshop on the use of generative artificial intelligence and large language models in product development, the limits and possible research potentials of the technology were discussed. In the workgroup "Product Creation", current projects in this field are the DFG SPP2443, the BMWK project Decide4ECO and the EU project CREXDATA.
