How are the data generated in capability-oriented product engineering linked together? Three papers from the DFG SPP2443 project “Design for Capability” addressed this question at HIPPE 2026 in Paderborn. Thomas Hesse, Tim Meinecke and Felix Vollenkemper presented Meta Data Models for process, resource, and product data. Linking these models creates an integrated overall model that establishes a structured database for capability-oriented product engineering. The overall model provides the basis for anticipating the capabilities required in product creation.
