Our research assistants Anastasia Margariti-Börgel and Dr Manuel Harms from the Philosophy and "Ethics of Scientific and Technological Cultures" workgroup attended the Future Earth Pathways Conference in Lusanne, Switzerland, from 1 to 5 June.
There they led the workshop "Sustainability Theatre: Role-Playing Blockchain and the Governance of Cold", in which the application of traceability technologies for more sustainable food supply chains was simulated with the participants.
The conference focussed on the role of technology in shaping a sustainable future. It focussed on the opportunities and challenges of technological developments in the face of climate change, resource scarcity and social inequalities. Researchers from various disciplines discussed how technological innovations can contribute to greater sustainability, justice and resilience.
