Workshop on Experience, Meaning and AI

Location: Universität Paderborn
Organizer: Suzana Alpsancar und Sebastian Luft

From 28 to 29 May 2026, Prof. Suzana Alpsancar, head of our workgroup "Philosophy and Ethics of Scientific and Technological Cultures" and Sebastian Luft will host the workshop "Experience, Meaning and AI" at Paderborn University as part of the Humboldt Research Fellowship.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers who are working on these topics and would like to present and discuss their current work. Different theoretical traditions and perspectives within and outside of philosophy, such as analytical philosophy, phenomenology, the history of philosophy, science and technology and social theory, will be brought into dialogue with each other. A particular focus will be on the connection between semantic and ethical questions of meaning and on contributions that examine these in the context of experience and large language models.
