The 20th Symposium on Foresight and Technology Planning, organised by our “Advanced Systems Engineering” work group, will take place in Berlin from 7 to 8 October 2026.
The symposium will focus on product and technology planning, which is a key strategic competence nowadays. It is about recognising the potential for future success at an early stage and exploiting it in good time. Direct customer feedback is often not enough, as customers can rarely predict tomorrow's problems. Companies must therefore anticipate developments in markets, technologies and other relevant fields in order to develop successful strategies.
The aim of the symposium is to create a forum for professionals involved in strategic product and technology planning. Regular events are intended to sponsor dialogue in this field, with experts presenting and discussing their work and exchanging experiences. The participants should address both developers and users of methods. The event is aimed at decision-makers in companies who are involved in shaping the future of their business, as well as experts from relevant research institutes.
