Goal of course:
The aim of the lecture is a comprehensive overview of methods and tools of strategic planning in the age of digitalization.

Target group:
The target group of the course is mainly students of Information Technology, Business Informatics and Computer Engineering. In addition, students of the Master's programmes in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering are invited to register for the lecture.

In the age of digitalization, fascinating opportunities for new products and services are opening up more than ever before. The only question is whether these innovations will be successful in the market. The aim of the lecture is a comprehensive overview of methods and tools of strategic planning in the age of digitalization. The students are taught the essential topics of strategic planning. This includes basics, methods and IT tools. The findings from the lecture will be explained and deepened in an accompanying exercise and case study. The lecture focuses on intelligent technical systems with a high proportion of software.

Goal of the course:
The lecture Mechtronik-Fertigung pursues the goal of conveying a comprehensive understanding of the manufacture of mechatronic systems and individual components.

Target group:
The lecture is aimed at Bachelor's and Master's students of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and industrial engineering.

The students are explained the essential manufacturing processes and process chains in mechatronics. This includes, for example, SMD and THT assembly in circuit board production, assembly of cable harnesses for power electronics as well as test and inspection planning of mechatronic components. The lecture focuses on a comprehensive introduction to the design of mechatronic systems. The students learn how to modularize functions and components and how to determine specific manufacturing costs. The approaches taught are a central success factor in the production of tomorrow's technical systems.

The lecture is offered by Dr.-Ing. Christoph Jürgenhake of Fraunhofer-Institute for Design Technology Mechatronics (Fraunhofer IEM) in cooperation with the Heinz Nixdorf Institute.
