Symposium on Foresight and Technology Planning

Strategic Product and Technology Planning

More than ever it is a question of strategic competence, i.e. the early recognition of tomorrow's success potentials and the timely development of these success potentials. Asking customers only helps to a very limited extent, because they will hardly say which problems they will have to solve tomorrow and how the corresponding solutions should be designed. Therefore, the basic prerequisite for successful strategic action is the imaginative anticipation of developments in markets, technologies and business environments (industry, suppliers, politics, society, etc.).

The systematic foresight illustrates the opportunities that lie at the intersection of future market requirements (market pull) and the technological possibilities of tomorrow (technology push), but also the threats to today's established business. This provides the basis for R&D orders and corresponding investment decisions.

A forum for strategists, exchange of experience at a high level

The event is aimed at decision-makers from companies involved in shaping tomorrow's business, as well as key personalities from relevant institutes. It offers an ambitious forum in which experts from industry and science present their work and put it up for discussion. The number of participants is therefore limited to about fifty.

Congress Innovation 360°

The need for a new era of collaborative innovation management goes hand in hand with the issues surrounding industry 4.0, digitally networked machines and modern business models.

The focus of the Collaborative Research Center SFB 768 of the Technical University of Munich and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University is on the optimal design and handling of innovation processes under consideration of cyclic influencing factors in order to support companies during constantly changing processes for the development of complex product service systems across disciplines.

The aim of the Innovation 360° congress is to create an interactive and practical forum for the further development of cyclic innovation management in complex systems. It offers engineers, managers and researchers a platform for the exchange of innovative concepts, ideas, applications and experiences. A special focus here is the networking of the various domains such as mechanical engineering, systems engineering, automation, optimization, engineering management, economics, psychology and product lifecycle management.

The TU Munich and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in cooperation with the competence partners AutomationML and the TU Vienna want to present the current state of knowledge in innovation management to a broad professional audience with the congress Innovation 360°. These findings will be supplemented by the experience of experts from industry and research.
