Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Gausemeier is Professor for Product Engineering at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute of the University of Paderborn. He received his PhD from the Institute for Machine Tools and Production Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. His doctoral supervisor was Professor Spur. During his 12 year career in industry, Dr. Gausemeier was Head of R&D of CAD/CAM systems. His last position was Division Manager for process control systems at a well-known Swiss company. Beyond his university activities, he is active as a Member of the Board and Managing Director of the scientific society „Scientific Society for Product Development (WiGeP)“. Furthermore, he is the initiator and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the consultant company UNITY AG. Jürgen Gausemeier is Member of the Executive Board of „acatech – German Academy of Science and Engineering“. In 2009 he was appointed to the German Council of Science and Humanities.
